The secrets to living longer, better are all around us

Blue Zones Project helps people improve their well-being and the well-being of their friends, family, and neighborhood by making changes to the places where people spend the most time. We work with workplaces, schools, restaurants, grocery stores, faith-based and civic organizations, and local governments to make healthy choices easier.

Blue Zones Project is based on research from a fifteen-year longevity study coupled with findings documented in National Geographic explorer Dan Buettner's New York Times best-seller, The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who’ve Lived the Longest.

Where it all began

From Sardinia, Italy to Okinawa, Japan to Loma Linda, California, people are living vibrant, active lives well into their hundreds. Dan Buettner calls these areas Blue Zones, and they're the inspiration behind his book, The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who've Lived the Longest.

Check out Dan's TED Talk, where he shares the longevity secrets that spurred the creation of Blue Zones Project.

The proof is in the zones

Blue Zones Communities® have realized powerful well-being changes that save money, help people live healthier lives, and inspire community organizations to be more successful. Organization Transformations

Blue Zones Project works with schools, worksites, grocery stores, restaurants, faith-based & civic groups, and local governments to create lasting change that benefits individuals, organizations, and communities.
