What's a Walking Moai Team?
The term "moai" (pronounced mow-eye) comes from Okinawa, Japan. It means "meeting for a common purpose." Walking Moai Teams are groups of 5 to 8 people that meet at least once a week for 10 weeks to walk throughout the community.

With a Walking Moai Team, staying healthy is easier and more fun. Teams spend time together to build or strengthen friendships while tracking their steps as they explore their neighborhoods.

How do I join a Walking Moai Team and what should I expect if I join a team?
Attend the Launch Event to join a team based on your shared interests and your availability to walk each week. As a team you will determine when and where you will walk for 10 weeks. Your team leader will track and report your team's progress.

Each participant will receive a Blue Zones Project t-shirt and water bottle. Each team will be eligible to win prizes upon completing 10 weeks of walking together at a Finish Line Celebration event.
